Notes: I’ve got a busy week so you will see some of the same recipes this week as I’ve made recently with variations depending on the veggies I have available. This is real life, people! In the picture above you can see some really neat veggies I got this week from my local farm – turnips (purpulish bottom left), celeriac (above the turnip), and beauty heart radishes (below the carrots).

GLP Tip of the Week: I’m on a campaign kick right now. Last week I wrote about “No Soda November”. I hope you are joining in! This week it is the Great American Smokeout, which is tomorrow, November 21st. If you or someone you know smokes, vapes, or uses other tobacco products, now is the time to quit! It is the number one thing you can do for your health. I know I harp on this a lot, but the connection between your health and the environment is deep. Healthy environment = healthy you. If you are a smoker, first of all, I don’t think you are a bad person. But it is time to face the consequences of this habit. Cancer, lung disease, dental problems, etc, etc, etc. You’ve heard it all before, but maybe you aren’t aware of the environmental consequences. Cigarette filters are plastic and are littering our beaches and roadsides. Cigarette butts were the number one item collected during the 2018 Coastal Clean-up in the U.S. The plastic is not recyclable and even if they make their way to the garbage, they are not going to breakdown in a landfill. Not to mention the plastic lighters, vaping equipment, chew containers and other nicotine supplies. Lot’s of waste involved. So if your health doesn’t motivate you to quit, let it be the environment. If you know a tobacco user, please share and encourage them to quit. Resources to help can be found here.
