Notes: Check your local store or farm this week for asparagus, it is starting to arrive! Other spring veggies to look for include spinach, arugula, mushrooms, and ramps. I scored some wonderful spinach, ramps, and mushrooms from local farms this week and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I looked at the mushroom container – it was made from 100% recycled plastic! If you are able to support local farms like this where you live, please do. It is so important for our local economies and the environment. If you are inclined you could also consider foraging for your mushrooms or ramps in the nearest wooded area. But make sure you know what you are doing when it comes to mushrooms!
